The Washtenaw Orchestra Choir is an all-volunteer choral music organization. We specialize in collaborations with local orchestras, performing both sacred and secular music.
We are pleased to say that this year WOC presented a concert in collaboration with with the Ypsilanti Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Adam Riccinto. We performed the Randall Thompson Frostiana and the Samuel Barber Agnus Dei.
Over the past seven years, the Washtenaw Orchestra Choir has worked successfully with the Dexter Community Orchestra under the direction of its founder, Don Parrish and its current conductor, Anthony Elliott. Last year, the Dexter High School Orchestra, under Matt Deloria, and the Dexter High School Choirs, under Julie Bassett, joined in this wonderful program for the holiday season.
WOC works from a base of sixty to seventy singers drawn from all over Washtenaw County and southeast Michigan. Many members are or have been active in community and church choirs in the area. Members run the spectrum of jobs, ages, genders and walks of life, but are united by their love of singing classical music and the fellowship they enjoy together.
